about

My sister gave me this poem “To the Moon” by Percy Bysshe Shelley when I was a teenager and I have always loved it so I was inspired to compose music to accompany the beautiful words.

lyrics

To the Moon
(words by Percy Bysshe Shelley, music by Nicolette Aubourg © 2006)

“Art thou pale for weariness
Of climbing heaven and gazing on the earth,
Wandering companionless
Among the stars
That have a different birth, -
And ever changing, like a joyless eye
That finds no object worth its constancy?”*

…Wandering companionless
Among the stars
That have a different birth,
Companionless
Among the stars
That have a different birth …
